Visiting the family of my boyfriend, we went to Canada for a month in April/May 2007. On a round-trip from Canada to the States and back, we also visited Niagara Falls, the US East Coast including New York as well as Montreal, Kinston and Toronto.
Sorry for the watermarks, but those are my vacation memories, not anyone else's ;)
I'm adding links to the pictures where I have uploaded them to dA as well - there is most likely a slightly bigger version there and you can buy it as print or postcard or whatever if you feel like it.
Marion & Volker came to meet us at Niagara Falls and took us back to their home a the East Coast of the USA in the vicinity of New Haven.

One of the most beautiful beaches I've seen, but completely different from everything in Italy or France, was the beach with the light house.

One of the most prestigious universities in the United States is Yale - located at the heart of New Haven.

You haven't really been to any of the New England States if you didn't eat lobster - meet Harry :D
We were in New York for almost two days - we got to stay in the middle
of Manhatten thanks to some "special donations"
right around the corner from Times Square. It saved us a lot of time - Manhatten
is bigger than I ever imagined. And the buildings are higher than any movie
or documentary can catch... The city kinda knocked me out, me being a country
girl mostly, it was huge and hectic and just unbelievably New York. Anyone
who has ever been there knows what I am talking about I guess.
Left: Even McDonalds seems to be especially New York-ish - this was the one next to Times Square. To the right: advertising near Times Square.

More Times Square impressions.

I always thought people were exagerating with New York being full of yellow cabs... but it's true. Though what they did exagerate imo is that the traffic's supposed to be so bad. It felt kinda orderly to me - I've been to cities where I was afraid to cross the street (Naples, Rome,...), but here - no problem.

View over New York - the big building to the right is Madison Square Garden.

Left: Chrysler Building with USA flags - this is as American as you can get if you ask me ;) ~ Right: one of the entrances to Central Station.

Central Station with clock and Angel statue.

Inside Central Station - long exposure with a tripod.
